In this quick video, I’m sharing one of my favourite tools for supporting children’s regulation — the glitter jar — and 3 simple ways I use it in my work with children.
This is a resource I regularly use in kids yoga classes, classrooms, and at home to support breathing, relaxation, and focused attention.
When used intentionally, simple tools like this can help children feel more settled in their bodies and better able to engage with what’s happening around them.
In this video, I share:
• How I use a glitter jar to support breathing
• How it can help children settle, rest and relax
• How it can be used to support balance and focused attention,
These ideas are suitable for teachers, educators, yoga teachers, parents and anyone working with children or teenagers in groups or one-to-one.
Free Workshop: I’ve also shared a free 45-minute workshop on YouTube exploring how to use props purposefully with children and teenagers — including playful props, traditional yoga props, and what to do when you don’t have any props at all.
