Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
23rd - 25th July 2027

Our adventure will start at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe where we'll see and feel the largest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls! As well as experience yoga with elephants in the sanctuary; a guided walk in the rainforest; soak up the culture as we cycle around the town and enjoy sunrise yoga on a floating yoga studio down the Zambezi River.

We'll stay at the beautiful Shongwe Lodge in Victoria Falls. Their stunning boutique lodge has a small amount of  uniquely decorated rooms, a wonderful pool & gardens, and a lookout tower & bar which offers incredible views of the Zambezi River, and the mist rising above the world-famous Victoria Falls.

Then, we journey into the heart of Botswana…

Chobe National Park, Botswana
25th - 31st July 2027

Our retreat continues with 6-unforgettable nights at Munga Plains, a premium eco-lodge and yoga sanctuary set on the edge of Chobe National Park — one of Africa’s most breathtaking wildlife regions. This is where the magic truly unfolds.

Nestled deep in the African wilderness, Munga Plains is a remote, soul-stirring escape designed for rest, rejuvenation and reconnection. The lodge is sustainable and largely self-sufficient, created with deep respect for the land and in collaboration with local artisans whose artwork brings each space to life.

We’ll have this private retreat space entirely to ourselves — a rare luxury — with beautifully styled rooms, a peaceful pool overlooking the savannah, open-air lounge decks, walking paths to explore safely, and a traditional campfire area perfect for storytelling under the stars.

Munga Plains Botswana

Purpose-built for yoga retreats, Munga Plains offers serene outdoor terraces and a dedicated practice space where we’ll flow, breathe, and ground ourselves each day, surrounded by birdsong and the gentle rustle of the bush.

Here, life slows down. Nature holds you. And every detail — from the ethical partnerships with the community to the eco-conscious design — supports deep rest, meaningful connection, and a profound sense of immersion in Africa’s wild beauty.

At Munga Plains, our days will be filled with unforgettable experiences — from sunrise and sunset safaris spotting the "Big 5" to getting upclose with wildlife along the river on a private boat cruise. We’ll connect with local culture through a hands-on African cooking class, visit the nearby village and school to share yoga with the children, and explore the savannah on a guided walking safari, learning the ancient art of tracking and witnessing the "Little 5" up close.

Founder & Lead Teacher

Laura is a globally experienced yoga teacher with 12 years of teaching adults and children across the world. Her classes blend flow, intuition and thoughtful alignment, helping students strengthen their bodies, regulate their nervous systems and reconnect with their energy.

A playful and creative teacher at heart—expect to smile, and maybe even laugh, throughout your practice. With her background as a highly experienced children’s yoga teacher trainer and former school teacher, laura brings a light-hearted, joyful energy to every class, while still guiding you into deep inner-connection, meaningful self-reflection and a physically enriching practice.

A lifelong traveller, Laura has lived and journeyed overseas for over 20 years, exploring more than 70 countries through solo adventures, yoga trainings, cultural immersion and meaningful connections with communities around the world. She considers herself an explorer at heart—curious, brave and deeply inspired by learning from new cultures.

Laura’s teaching is both skillful and soulful. Having trained around the globe with some of the most reputable teachers and schools, she weaves ancient yoga philosophy seamlessly into modern, accessible and relevant practices. She thoughtfully prepares each class based on who is in the room, while also using her intuition to feel the group’s collective energy.

Her morning sessions are dynamic and energising, guiding students confidently toward strength, power and inner resilience—no matter their level or experience. Themes of grounding, gratitude and inner strength run through her classes, giving each practice a sense of intention and depth.

Her afternoon and evening practices are deeply nurturing with a focus on nervous system health and mental well-being: restorative yoga, yin, guided awareness, breathing practices, therapeutic approaches, gentle movement, aromatherapy, and sound healing - this is medicine for the mind and body— soothing, spacious and nourishing.

Every body is welcomed and embraced in Laura’s classes. She honours injuries, offers modifications, creative variations and holds a space where beginners, seasoned practitioners, and everyone in between feel equally supported.

With her warm presence, global wisdom, and heart-led teaching style, Laura creates classes that are not only transformative — but unforgettable.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is designed for open-hearted, curious, growth-oriented humans who crave adventure, connection, and meaningful rest.

My community naturally includes teachers, social workers, well-being practitioners, creatives and people who value compassion, culture and inner exploration — typically in their 30s, 40s and 50s, though all ages are welcome.

You do not need to be a seasoned yogi, and you certainly do not need to come with a friend. If you’re someone who loves learning, wants to reconnect with yourself, and feels excited by the idea of exploring Africa in a mindful, nourishing way, you will be deeply welcomed here.

While we absolutely love families and, of course, children, this particular retreat is created as an adults-only space — a chance for us to rest, reconnect, and experience the magic of Africa in a truly nurturing way.

FAQ – Botswana Yoga & Safari Retreat

Do I need yoga experience to join?

No. All levels are welcome — from complete beginners to experienced yogis. Laura teaches in an inclusive and intuitive with experience of injuries and she offers modifications to suit each body. This way everybody feels supported, safe and empowered.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely — many guests do! And you’ll be in wonderful company. Laura has travelled solo for over 20 years and knows exactly how to create a retreat environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and instantly part of the community. Bringing people together is one of her specialties as a retreat leader, and by the first evening you’ll already feel connected, included, and at ease — whether you arrive alone or with a friend.

Do I need a visa for Botswana or Zimbabwe?

Many nationalities (including UK, USA, Hong Kong, EU passport holders) do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Botswana. For Zimbabwe we can get a visa-on-arrival at the airport. We will guide you as part of your welcome pack, but please always check your latest government travel advice.

Do I need vaccinations or malaria protection?

Some travelers choose to take anti-malaria medication when visiting this region, and vaccines such as tetanus, hepatitis A/B or typhoid may be recommended. Please consult a travel-health clinic or your doctor for personalised advice.

Will I have free time?

Yes — absolutely. Each day includes spacious time to rest, swim, journal, walk in nature, or simply relax on the deck overlooking the savannah. This retreat is intentionally designed to nourish your nervous system, not overwhelm you with a packed schedule.

What if I don't want to join in with all of the activities?

All activities are optional — every yoga class, every safari, every excursion. Everything is included, but we honour the fact that you may want a quiet morning with a book, a slow day by the pool, or time to simply be in the beauty of the lodge. Your retreat, your rhythm.
