Teaching Yoga to Children:

Where Do You Start?

Wednesday 1st July:

6pm PST I 9pm EST

Thursday 2nd July:

9am HKT I 12:00 (noon) AEST

(Replay Available)

You know yoga works.

You've experienced the benefits yourself. Perhaps yoga, mindfulness, meditation or relaxation practices have helped you feel calmer, more grounded, more resilient or more connected to yourself.

You also know that children need these skills too.

Maybe you've experimented with a breathing exercise in your classroom; introduced a mindfulness activity at home; used a relaxation with your students or tried a few yoga poses with the children in your care.

But then what?

  • How do you actually teach yoga to children?

  • What is developmentally appropriate and safe?

  • How do you keep children engaged?

  • How do you adapt practices for different ages, abilities and needs?

  • How do you help children benefit from relaxation when they can't seem to lie still?

  • And what exactly is children's yoga beyond poses and breathing exercises?

These are the questions we'll explore together in this free workshop because children's yoga is about so much more than teaching poses.

It's about understanding child development, engagement, regulation skills, teaching methodology,  creativity, communication and how to translate practices that work for adults into experiences that genuinely work for children.

In this practical and interactive live workshop, you'll discover the missing skills, strategies and understanding that help children engage with yoga and mindfulness in a meaningful way.

Whether you're a teacher, parent, therapist, yoga teacher or simply someone interested about supporting children's wellbeing, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of what children's yoga really is and how it can be used to support children's health, wellbeing and development.

Meet Your Teacher

I'm Laura, a Children's Yoga Teacher Trainer, Early Years & Special Needs Educator, and Yoga Teacher with over 25 years' experience working with children and 12+ years teaching yoga and mindfulness.

Originally from the UK and now based in Hong Kong, I've led children's yoga trainings around the world, collaborated with schools and organisations, and supported thousands of educators, parents and yoga teachers in bringing yoga and wellbeing practices to children. My approach is practical, evidence-based and science-backed, combining therapeutic techniques, creative movement, and emotional support in a way that is inclusive, playful and profoundly nurturing.

When I first started introducing yoga into my classroom, I honestly didn't know what I was doing. I'd been practicing yoga and meditation for many years and had already completed a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, yet I still wasn't sure how to translate those practices into experiences that were engaging, age-appropriate and meaningful for children.

It wasn't until I completed a Children's Yoga Teacher Training that everything began to make sense. Suddenly I understood not only what to teach, but how to teach it, why it worked and how to adapt it for different ages, abilities and needs.

This workshop is designed to give you a glimpse into that world and help you understand what children's yoga really is, why it works, and what it takes to teach it effectively.
