Ancient wisdom. Modern science.
One intelligent, integrated approach to teaching yoga.

Online: April - June 2027
Thailand Immersion: 3 - 16 July 2027
A 200-hour teacher training that today’s teachers and students, truly need
Rooted in yoga tradition, informed by modern science and built around real teaching practice, The Embodied Teacher goes far beyond learning poses and Sanskrit. You’ll learn to understand yoga deeply, work intelligently with real bodies and real people, and develop the confidence, creativity and an authentic voice to truly teach.

13 nights. A secluded tropical island.
A brand-new retreat space.
One extraordinary place to bring everything together.
In July 2027, we leave our screens and everyday routines behind and travel to Vikasa Evolution Retreat in Phuket, a brand-new, purpose-built yoga and wellness retreat on the secluded island of Koh Lon, just 15 minutes by boat from Phuket.
For 13 nights, our small training group will live, learn & practice together, surrounded by tropical nature, panoramic ocean views and our own beautiful yoga space, with a private beach just steps away.
This is where months of online learning become something you can feel, practice, question, explore & teach, with the time and space to go deeply into your own practice, while developing the skills and confidence to guide others.
Practice in the morning. Learn & teach throughout the day. Swim between sessions. Share meals & conversations. Slow down. For 13 nights, you get to step away from everything else and immerse yourself in something you love.
This isn't simply where we complete the training. It's part of what makes The Embodied Teacher so special.
Student Experiences
"Laura is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever come across in any field and exudes tons of passion for what she does; which is evident in how she talks about and teaches this practice.
You will learn more than you may even be able to handle, but will come out of it feeling confident to teach right away, which is rare in my personal experience!
Enjoy yourself and the experience for all it has to offer!"
- Jessica. Children's Social Worker & Yoga Teacher

Knowing yoga isn't the same as knowing how to teach it.
You can have years of personal practice, know hundreds of poses, understand the philosophy and have completed training after training, and still not feel completely confident when you’re the one standing at the front of the room.
Exceptional teaching isn't about how much yoga you know. It's about what you can do with that knowledge.
It’s understanding anatomy well enough to help your students understand their own bodies - not simply telling everyone what the perfect alignment of the pose is.
It’s knowing how to keep people safe, recognise what you’re seeing and offer modifications, assists and hands-on adjustments that have a genuine purpose - whether that’s helping someone progress their practice, work with an injury, or soften and find another way.
It’s knowing how to build and adapt a sequence because you understand why you’re teaching it, and having the confidence to change that plan on the spot when the energy, experience or needs of the people in front of you tell you something different.
It’s being able to take the philosophy, pranayama, meditation and traditions of yoga and weave them naturally into the experience, not as an awkward five-minute addition, but in ways that help your students understand, experience and benefit from yoga beyond the physical practice.
And then there are the things that rarely make it onto a class plan but can completely change the way a class feels.
How you welcome someone who is nervous or new. How you settle a distracted room. The language you use. The questions you ask and answer. When you demonstrate and when you observe. When you offer more and how you give someone permission to do less. How you create focus without demanding it. How you help people feel comfortable, valued and confident.
How you turn a yoga class into a space people trust and a group of students into a community that wants to keep coming back.
That is the difference between knowing yoga and knowing how to teach it. And that is what The Embodied Teacher is designed to develop.
Not a script to follow. The knowledge, skill and confidence to lead.
You'll learn the anatomy, philosophy, traditions, practices and teaching methodology but more importantly, you'll learn how to bring them together.
So when you walk into a room, you're not wondering what you're supposed to say next.
You observe. Educate. Adapt. Challenge. Adjust. Connect. Respond. And ultimately, teach as yourself.
Student Experiences
"Laura is one of the most positive, knowledgeable and encouraging teachers I have ever met. Do it! "
- Caroline, Parent & Primary School Teacher

The depth of yoga tradition. The intelligence of modern science. The skill to bring both to life through your teaching.
The Embodied Teacher brings together the full spectrum of yoga practice and teaching: Vinyasa. Slow Flow. Hatha. Yin. Restorative. Pranayama. Meditation. Yoga Nidra. Philosophy. Anatomy. Ayurveda.
You'll explore the traditions and philosophy that underpin yoga alongside modern anatomy, movement science, nervous-system health and contemporary teaching methodology.
Because great teaching doesn't ask us to choose between ancient wisdom and modern understanding. It asks us to understand both deeply, respecting the traditions of these practices while continually questioning, learning and evolving how we teach them.
So you can bring yoga into the room in a way that is authentic to its roots, intelligent in its application and genuinely relevant to the bodies, minds and lives of your students today.

More than 1,000 hours of training. Brought together into one 200-hour experience.
Over the past 13+ years of teaching yoga, I’ve continued to be a student myself; completing more than 1,000 hours of specialist training and study across different traditions, practices and approaches to wellbeing.
My studies have taken me far beyond a single style of yoga: from Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra and prenatal yoga to therapeutic approaches for anxiety and depression, alongside continued learning in anatomy, neuroscience, psychology, Ayurveda, nervous-system health and holistic wellbeing practices.
Add to that my background in education, and decades spent understanding how people learn, how we communicate complex ideas and how we turn knowledge into something another person can actually understand and use - and you have the foundation of how I approach teacher trainings.
None of these areas exist in isolation when I teach. They inform each other.
Anatomy changes the way we understand asana. Neuroscience deepens the way we approach meditation and regulation. Philosophy gives context and meaning to practice. Psychology helps us understand the person in front of us. Teaching methodology changes how we communicate all of it.
And years of actually teaching show us when to use what we know, and when to put the lesson plan aside and respond to the room.
The Embodied Teacher brings all of those threads together.
You won't be taught one rigid method, one style of yoga or one person's formula. You'll experience a broad, deeply integrated approach and learn how to make intelligent connections between tradition, philosophy, anatomy, science, movement, breath, meditation, nervous-system health and the art of teaching itself.
Because knowing something and knowing how to teach it are two very different skills. This training is designed to give you both.
Not 200 hours of information to remember; 200 hours of learning designed to change the way you understand, experience and teach yoga.

Student Experiences
"Laura, you bring so much passion and light into the teaching space! This course has been very organic, holistic and so relevant to our lives.
I highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a certificate with authentic knowledge."
- Babita, Yoga Teacher
Leave knowing how to teach, not simply what to teach.
By the end of this training, you'll be able to step into a room with the knowledge, confidence and adaptability to lead and support the students in front of you.
You’ll learn how to:
-
Create intelligent, purposeful classes with a clear understanding of how and why each element fits together
.
-
Teach confidently across different styles of yoga, including Vinyasa, Slow Flow, Yin and Restorative practices as well as meditation and pranayama sessions
-
Teach across levels of experience, from complete beginners to established practitioners and mixed-level groups.
-
Understand functional anatomy and movement and translate that knowledge into meaningful guidance your students can apply to their own bodies and practice.
-
Cue with clarity, intention and precision, using language that supports awareness, understanding and exploration.
-
Observe individual bodies and movement patterns to offer thoughtful modifications, progressions and alternatives that genuinely serve the individual student.
-
Sequence with depth and purpose, understanding not simply which pose comes next, but why - anatomically, energetically and experientially.
-
Create practices around anatomical, philosophical, energetic and nervous-system themes, weaving different layers of yoga together with confidence.
-
Teach pranayama, meditation and Yoga Nidra as integral practices in their own right and as meaningful elements within a wider yoga class.
-
Effectively use props, variations, demonstration, verbal guidance and hands-on support with skill, sensitivity and clear intention.
-
Work confidently one-to-one, learning how to observe, assess and create practices around an individual student's needs and intentions.
-
Read the energy of a room and respond in real time, knowing when to progress, simplify, energise, settle or change direction altogether.
-
Create an environment in which students feel welcomed, focused and supported, understanding the subtle details that shape the experience from the moment they arrive.
-
Develop your own teaching voice and philosophy, drawing on everything you've learned without feeling you need to replicate the teachers who came before you.
-
Build meaningful relationships with your students and cultivate community, creating the kind of classes people value, trust and want to return to.
-
Step into professional teaching opportunities with confidence, from planning your first public class to preparing and delivering the kind of teaching demo expected by studios.
And you won't wait until the end of the training to begin teaching.
Teaching practice and feedback is woven throughout The Embodied Teacher. You'll observe, explore, practice, teach, receive individual feedback, refine and teach again - gradually taking greater ownership as your knowledge and confidence develop.
By the time you complete the training, teaching won't be the next step. It will already be something you know how to do.

Our Methodology
Learn it: Build the theoretical foundations through the online programme.
Experience it: Feel the practice in your own body before trying to teach it to somebody else.
Explore it: Break it apart. Question it. Look at different bodies. Understand what changes and why.
Teach it: Put the knowledge into practice - in pairs, small groups and increasingly in front of our whole training group.
Refine it: Receive feedback. Problem-solve. Adapt. Try again.
That's how knowledge becomes embodied teaching.

One training. Two different learning experiences.

The Embodied Teacher begins long before we arrive in Thailand.
Over these first months, we’ll start exploring the foundations of yoga together - building your knowledge, expanding your practice and beginning to develop the way you think, observe and communicate as a teacher.
Through a blend of interactive, live online workshops, guided practice, demonstrations, discussion, practical exploration and self-paced learning, we’ll bring subjects such as anatomy, philosophy, movement, sequencing, pranayama and teaching methodology to life - making connections between what you learn, what you experience in your own practice and how you might eventually teach it.
And if you've ever taken one of my online workshops, you'll know this won't feel like sitting through an online course. Expect to move, experiment, question, reflect, practice, discuss and start teaching.
Just as importantly, these months give us time to get to know one another. You'll begin connecting with your training community, finding your voice, asking questions and building confidence within the group before we ever step into the same physical room.
So when you arrive in Phuket, you won't be arriving on Day One with a room full of strangers. You'll arrive already connected, already curious, already practicing what you're learning - and ready to take everything we've begun online off the screen, into your body and into the room

This isn't a curriculum you'll simply work your way through.
You’ll experience the practices, explore the ideas together, question what you’re learning and begin applying it to your own teaching from the very beginning.
We’ll have a Yoga Book Club, lively group discussions and practical workshops. You'll move through guided practices with me, investigate what you're experiencing in your own body, analyse real teaching scenarios, experiment with cueing and sequencing, and begin with short, supportive mini-teaching practices long before we arrive in Phuket.
Because the best way to understand yoga isn't simply to study it.
It's to experience it, explore it, talk about it - and begin teaching it.
-
Yoga History + Philosophy
Explore the ideas that have shaped yoga and what they mean for us now.
Through our Yoga Book Club, group discussions, reflection and guided practices, we'll explore yoga's history, evolution and key philosophical teachings. Rather than simply learning names, dates and concepts, we'll ask bigger questions: What does this teaching mean? How does it show up in my own life? And how can I share philosophy authentically and with relevance, with students today?
-
Functional Anatomy + Movement
Learn anatomy by moving, observing and feeling it.
We'll explore the body through guided movement labs, visual learning, practical experiments and observation, developing an understanding of joints, movement, skeletal variation and functional anatomy that you can actually use when you teach.
You'll start learning to look at a student and think beyond “Is that pose correct?” towards “What am I seeing, why might their body move this way, and how can I support them?”
-
Asana Foundations
Experience the practice. Then learn to see it through a teacher's eyes.
Through guided classes with me, we'll explore foundational asana, Sun Salutations and the major movement and posture families.
You'll gradually experience those practices differently; noticing purpose, preparation, anatomy, breath, transitions, language and choice, so you're not simply practicing the pose anymore. You're beginning to understand how and why we teach it.
-
The Art & Intelligence of Sequencing
Turn individual poses into an experience with purpose.
We'll pull sequences apart, build them back together and experiment with different possibilities. You'll explore class arcs, transitions, preparation, progression, pacing and intention, then begin creating short sequences of your own.
The goal isn't to give you sequences to memorise. It's to develop the knowledge and creativity to build your own intelligently.
-
The Art of Cueing
Find the words - and the confidence - to lead.
Through observation, demonstrations, playful cueing exercises and mini teaching practices, you'll explore how language changes the way someone experiences movement.
We'll work with verbal cues, demonstration, imagery, anatomical language, tone, pace and silence - gradually helping you discover a way of communicating that feels clear, knowledgeable and authentically you.
-
Yin + Yang
Experience how intention can completely transform a practice.
We'll move between dynamic and slower practices, exploring what changes when we alter pace, muscular effort, time, breath, focus and intention.
Through guided Vinyasa, slower movement, Yin and restorative exploration, you'll begin developing a much broader toolkit and understanding when and why you might choose one approach over another.
-
Pranayama & Meditation
Practices to experience deeply before you learn to share them.
You'll be guided through different pranayama and meditation practices throughout the online experience, giving you time to feel, reflect and build your own relationship and routine with them.
Alongside the practice, we'll explore their traditional foundations, modern understanding, benefits, considerations and teaching application, before you begin guiding practices yourself.
-
Teaching the Individual
Because there is always a person behind the pose. Through case studies, observation and practical scenarios, we'll explore how teaching changes when you're working with one individual rather than an entire room.
You'll begin learning how to ask better questions, observe movement, understand someone's intentions and make thoughtful choices around practice, progression, modification and support.
-
Yoga as a Profession
Begin thinking like a teacher before you qualify as one.
We'll talk openly and practically about what happens beyond certification: approaching studios, interviews and demonstration classes, private clients, pricing, professionalism, ethics, opportunities and creating a teaching career that actually fits your life.
You'll start considering who you want to teach, what you want to be known for and the kind of community you want to create so you're not handed a certificate at the end and left wondering what comes next.
Student Review
"Laura is inspiring and I came away confident.
Go for it - you won’t look back"
~ Ellen, Primary School Teacher

Embodiment | Phuket, Thailand
3–16 July 2027
This is where everything we've explored online starts to come together.
For 13 nights, we step away from everyday life and into an immersive, nourishing learning environment where you'll practice, explore, question, experiment, teach & experience yoga together.
Each day is intentionally designed as a complete learning experience. You'll begin by experiencing a yoga practice, then spend the day unpacking the anatomy, philosophy, sequencing & teaching methodology behind it - exploring ideas through practical workshops, movement labs, partner work, group discussion, observation & hands-on practice.
We'll take what you're learning and put it straight into action. You'll experiment with modifications & progressions, build sequences, practice cueing, work with different bodies, explore assists, solve real teaching scenarios and increasingly step into the role of teacher yourself.
And throughout the immersion, we'll experience the breadth of yoga, from dynamic Vinyasa & Slow Flow to Yin, restorative yoga, pranayama, meditation & Yoga Nidra - while exploring how anatomy, nervous-system health, philosophy, tradition & modern teaching methodology can inform the choices you make.
Nothing exists in isolation. You'll experience it. Understand it. Pull it apart. Put it back together. Teach it. Receive feedback. And try it again.
So by the time you leave Phuket, you're not simply carrying home another 110 hours of knowledge.
You're carrying an entirely different level of confidence in what you know and what you can do with it.
-
Asana & Functional Anatomy
See the body differently and become confident teaching the person, not simply the pose.
We'll explore major posture & movement families through our morning yoga practice, anatomy labs, observation, partner work & practical exploration.
You'll work with real bodies and real variations, learning to recognise what you're seeing and make informed decisions about alignment, range of movement, stability, mobility & individual skeletal differences. We'll explore modifications and progressions that genuinely have purpose, helping you understand how to support, challenge or soften a practice according to the individual in front of you.
-
Intelligent Sequencing & Creative Class Design
Take everything you've learned and start creating practices that are truly your own.
We'll build classes around anatomical intentions, energetic qualities, philosophical ideas, peak poses, nervous-system needs & different student populations. You'll explore preparation, progression, transitions, pacing, counterposes & class arcs, while learning how the smallest choices can completely change the experience of a practice.
You'll create. You'll teach. We'll pull things apart. You'll refine them and try again. Until sequencing becomes less about remembering rules and much more about understanding what you're trying to create.
-
Cueing, Observation & Hands-On Support
Learn to see more, communicate clearly & adjust with intention.
We'll work practically with verbal cueing, demonstration, observation, imagery, anatomical language, tone, pacing & silence. You'll practice watching bodies while you teach, noticing how students respond to your words and becoming comfortable changing your language when something isn't working.
We'll explore hands-on assists & support, including when touch may be useful, how to offer it appropriately and how props, positioning or a simple verbal cue can sometimes be the more effective choice.
-
Inversions, Arm Balances & Progression
Learn how to teach challenge intelligently. We'll explore inversions, arm balances & more complex asana through preparation, anatomy, strength, mobility, technique, observation & progressive teaching. Rather than treating an advanced pose as the destination, you'll learn to recognise the many valuable places a student might work along the way.
You'll experience how thoughtful preparation, intelligent use of props & individual progression can help students explore their potential with confidence while respecting their bodies.
-
Yin, Restorative Yoga & Nervous-System Regulation
We'll slow everything down and explore how Yin, restorative practices, breath, language & stillness can completely change the experience of a class. You'll practice using props with greater precision, explore the intention behind different shapes and learn how to create practices that support rest, awareness, regulation & restoration.
-
Philosophy, Pranayama & Meditation
Bring the wider practice of yoga naturally into the room. Philosophy and traditions of yoga will become something we experience, discuss & weave into practice.
We'll explore how philosophy, pranayama, meditation, mantra, reflection & the traditions of yoga can become meaningful parts of your teaching, without feeling separate, scripted or added simply because you think a yoga class should contain them. You'll begin discovering which practices and teachings resonate with you and how to share them with knowledge, context, confidence & authenticity.
-
The Art of Holding Space and Guiding a Room
Students experience far more than the sequence you teach. We'll explore the subtle details that can make an extraordinary difference to how people experience your classes.
How do you welcome someone who has never practiced yoga before? How do you settle a distracted group? Create focus? Build trust? Work with different personalities? Respond when the energy in the room isn't what you expected?
You'll experiment with music, environment, sensory experiences, language, positioning, pace, connection, silence & ritual, and learn how to make intentional choices about the experience you're creating from the moment your students arrive. Because ultimately, you're not simply leading movement, you're creating a space people choose to return to.
-
Teaching Different Students & Real-World Classes
What happens when your class contains a complete beginner, an experienced practitioner and someone who needs significant modifications?
What if the sequence you'd planned isn't working?
What if the room feels flat? Restless? Tired?
What if you're asked to teach Slow Flow rather than Vinyasa? A private client rather than a group? Or you're given 30 minutes to show a studio what you can do?
Through teaching scenarios, partner work, small groups & practical challenges, you'll learn to think on your feet and make decisions with increasing independence, because confidence doesn't come from knowing that everything will go according to plan. It comes from knowing you can teach when it doesn't.
-
Your Teaching Voice & Practice
This is where the teacher starts to become distinctly you. As the immersion progresses, my role begins to change.
I'll teach less. You'll teach more. You'll plan practices, lead sections of classes, observe one another, work with different briefs, receive individual feedback & refine your teaching as you go.
We'll explore what makes your teaching distinctive, your strengths, interests, personality, experience & the students you feel drawn to work with. And we'll prepare for the realities of stepping into professional teaching, including studio interviews and demo classes, private teaching, class planning & building the community around your work.
You won't leave Phuket trying to remember how I taught, you'll leave knowing how you teach.
And this is what makes the immersion different:
-
You'll practice in the morning and analyse what you experienced later.
-
You'll study anatomy and immediately apply it to real bodies.
-
You'll explore philosophy and discover how it can live inside a class.
-
You'll learn sequencing and build your own.
-
You'll study teaching methodology and stand up and teach.
-
You'll receive feedback and have the opportunity to apply it again.
Practice. Explore. Apply. Teach. Refine.
By the time you leave Phuket, the knowledge won't just be sitting in your notebook.
It will be in the way you see, the way you move, the decisions you make & the way you teach.

Student Experiences
"I could not have been happier with the course!
Everything was taught openly, genuinely and completely from the heart".
- Gemmarie, Parent, Educator and Yoga Teacher

13 nights on a secluded tropical island. One extraordinary place to learn.
The online experience is only the beginning.
In July 2027, we'll travel to Vikasa Evolution Retreat Phuket, a brand-new, purpose-built yoga retreat on the tropical island of Koh Lon, just off the coast of Phuket.
For 13 nights, we'll step away from everyday life and immerse ourselves completely in practice, learning, teaching & connection, surrounded by tropical nature, with beautiful purpose-built yoga spaces and a private beach just steps away.
You'll wake up and practice together overlooking the ocean. Spend your days exploring anatomy, movement, philosophy & the art of teaching. Experiment, question, teach and receive feedback.
Share long, delicious brunches and relaxed dinners. Swim in the ocean. Rest by the pool. Enjoy a spa treatment. Cool off in the cold plunge pools. Connect with each other and with nature. Finish your evening with meditation or Yoga Nidra.
And amongst all of that, the things you've been learning stop being information and start becoming part of how you teach.
This isn't simply where we complete the training.
The immersion is part of what makes The Embodied Teacher what it is.

A Day at Vikasa
Deep practice. Focused learning. Time to integrate.
Our days in Thailand are intentionally designed to move between practice, study, discussion, experimentation & teaching, with genuine space in between to eat, swim, rest, connect & absorb everything you're learning.
Your Daily Rhythm
6:00–7:30 | Morning Practice
A guided practice exploring different styles, themes & approaches, from dynamic Vinyasa and Slow Flow to more focused anatomical or philosophical practices.
7:30–9:00 | Pranayama, Meditation & Exploration
Breathwork, meditation, philosophy, reflection & discussion, experiencing the wider traditions of yoga as an integral part of the practice.
9:00–11:00 | Brunch & Space
A long, unhurried break to eat, swim, beach, rest, read, connect with the group, or disappear somewhere quiet for a while.
11:00–1:00 | Deep-Dive Workshop
This is where we take things apart. Anatomy & movement, posture families, philosophy, sequencing, teaching methodology, modifications, progression, cueing, observation & the science behind what we're exploring.
1:00–1:15 | Reset
1:15–3:15 | Practical Labs
Less sitting, more doing. Partner exploration, movement labs, hands-on support, props, sequencing challenges, case studies, teaching exercises & practical application.
3:15–4:15 | Rest, Refuel & Integrate
Head back to your room. Swim. Grab a juice or snack by the pool. Nap. Journal. Sit on the beach. An hour that's deliberately yours.
4:15–6:30| Teaching & Embodiment
Small-group practice & feedback, Yin & restorative practices.
From 6:30 | Dinner & Evening
Come back together over a nourishing dinner - time to eat, talk, laugh, continue the conversations from the day & connect without an agenda.
Selected Evenings | Slow Down
On some evenings, we'll come back together after dinner for Yoga Nidra, relaxation & meditation, deeply restorative practices, reflection or something special we want to explore together.

No two days will look exactly the same. One might take us deeply into backbends and the spine; another into hips, inversions, philosophy, nervous-system regulation or restorative practice.
As the immersion progresses, you'll gradually spend more time applying what you've learned - observing, experimenting, teaching and receiving feedback.
Why Vikasa?
Because where you learn matters.
I wanted somewhere that could hold the intensity of a 200-hour teacher training without making the experience itself feel intense.
A place designed for yoga. Surrounded by nature. Beautiful spaces to practice and learn. Incredible food that actually supports long days of training. And everything you need to move, study, teach, recover, rest & enjoy being in Thailand without constantly needing to leave the retreat.
Vikasa gives us all of that.

-
Purpose-built for yoga
Three dedicated yoga shalas, including beautiful open-air and air-conditioned practice spaces, give us the flexibility to move between asana, anatomy labs, workshops, meditation, teaching practice & restorative sessions throughout the day.
-
Food designed to nourish
Fresh, varied and genuinely delicious food, with nourishing brunches & dinners designed to support energy, well-being and recovery throughout the training (all included)
-
Ocean on your doorstep
A private beach, infinity pool and outdoor spaces mean the ocean becomes part of daily life, whether that's an early-morning practice, a swim between workshops or sunset yoga by the water.
-
Recovery built in
Ice baths, sauna & steam, optional spa treatments to enjoy between sessions. These little pockets of wellbeing are part of what makes Vikasa so special. Time to slow down, switch off and enjoy the experience beyond the yoga shala.
-
Space to completely switch off
Wellness spaces, tropical gardens and quiet areas in nature give you somewhere to disappear when you want time alone. Read, journal, nap or simply do nothing.
-
Somewhere you'll actually want to come home to
Comfortable, premium accommodation gives you your own space to sleep deeply and recharge between full training days.
-
Secluded, but easy to reach
Koh Lon feels wonderfully removed from everyday life, while being only around 15 minutes by boat from Phuket, giving us the island experience without an exhausting onward journey.

And one whole day is yours.
Midway through the immersion, we stop.
No workshops. No timetable. No assignments.
Spend the day exactly as you need it.
Sleep in. Swim. Book a spa treatment. Read by the pool. Go stand-up paddleboarding or snorkelling. Explore Phuket Old Town. Visit a temple. Head out into nature. Or do absolutely nothing.
If you'd like to explore further, there are opportunities in and around Phuket for experiences such as waterfall walks, cultural & spiritual sites and responsible wildlife experiences.
Your only assignment for the day? Come back feeling ready for the second half of training.
Is The Embodied Teacher for you?
This training is for you if you're ready to deepen your understanding of yoga, expand what you're capable of teaching & develop the confidence to make it your own.
You might be:
-
A dedicated yoga practitioner ready to move beyond your own practice and learn how to confidently guide others.
-
An existing yoga teacher who wants greater depth, stronger teaching skills, fresh inspiration & a more intelligent understanding of what you're already teaching.
-
A children's yoga teacher ready to deepen your own yoga knowledge and expand beyond children's classes - perhaps into teaching teenagers, parents, school communities or other teachers.
-
An educator, therapist, wellbeing or movement professional wanting to integrate yoga more confidently and skillfully into the work you already do.
-
You may feel interested to study yoga more deeply without knowing whether you ever want to teach professionally - and that's absolutely welcome.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what kind of teacher you'll become or where this training will take you.
You need curiosity, an established relationship with yoga & a willingness to practice, question, explore and grow.

Your 200-hour certification
Graduate ready to teach with an internationally recognised foundation behind you.
The Embodied Teacher is a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, designed to meet the educational standards for a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School.
On successful completion of the training, you'll receive your 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate, giving you the foundation to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.
But the certificate is only one part of what you'll leave with.
You'll also leave with real teaching experience, individual feedback, a deeper understanding of yoga and the practical skills to begin working with students, whether that's in studios, privately, within schools & wellbeing settings, or alongside the work you already do.

Meet Laura
Founder. Educator. Yoga Teacher Trainer. Lifelong Student.
For more than a decade, I’ve been teaching yoga and training teachers around the world - from leading retreats and teacher trainings in Mexico and Zanzibar, to studying with teachers in India and Bali, and continuing to learn from different traditions, disciplines and approaches wherever my work takes me.
Today, I’m the founder of Divine Light Yoga and owner of Wildflower Wellbeing studio in Hong Kong, but my roots are also firmly in education. Before moving fully into yoga, I spent years as an international school teacher, part of more than 25 years working in education, teaching and wellbeing.
That combination has shaped the way I teach.
My approach to yoga is holistic, inclusive and therpeutic. Integrating both tradition and science, challenge and rest, serious study and play. My intention is that people feel welcomed exactly as they are, supported to explore, confident to ask questions and curious to discover their own way of understanding what they're learning.

And my teacher trainings reflect that. You won't spend 200 hours watching presentations and taking notes.
We move. We practice. We experiment. We discuss. We question. We work in groups. We reflect. We solve problems. We teach one another. We take ideas apart and put them back together. There are mini assignments, practical challenges, shared learning, plenty of laughter, and space for the conversations that inevitably take us somewhere unexpected.
Over the years, that interactive, nurturing and genuinely enjoyable approach to learning has become one of the things my trainings are known for.
Because people learn better when they feel safe to participate, supported enough to make mistakes and connected enough to learn from one another.
And that support doesn't disappear when the training ends.
Community has always been at the heart of Divine Light Yoga. My students continue to come back for mentoring, workshops, questions, collaborations, opportunities and connection long after they've graduated.
The Embodied Teacher is about creating a shared learning environment in which you can learn from the practices, from the people around you, from your own experience, and ultimately discover the teacher you want to become.
centred.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an advanced yoga practitioner to join?
Absolutely not. This training isn’t about performing advanced poses or having the “perfect” practice. You should have an established personal relationship with yoga and a genuine desire to deepen your understanding, but you do not need to be able to do any particular poses, be able to meditate for a certain length of time or practice a particular style.
Your personal practice will naturally evolve during the training. We’ll work with different bodies, abilities and experiences throughout the training, because that is exactly what you’ll encounter when you begin teaching.
Is this training suitable for beginners?
Yes. You do not need any previous teaching experience.
The training is designed to gradually take you from student to teacher, beginning with observation, exploration and small, supportive teaching exercises before progressing into sequencing, cueing, adapting, leading practices and teaching real classes.
You won't suddenly be asked to teach a 60-minute class on the final day having never practiced teaching before. Teaching is woven throughout the entire experience.

I'm already a yoga teacher. Is this training still suitable for me?
Yes. The Embodied Teacher is also designed for existing teachers who feel there are gaps in their original training, want to refresh their knowledge or are ready to become more confident, adaptable and creative in the way they teach.
It may be particularly valuable if you want to deepen your understanding of functional anatomy, sequencing, nervous-system health, philosophy, pranayama, meditation, Yin, restorative practices or working with individual students.
Rather than asking you to forget what you already know, you'll be encouraged to bring your experience into the room, question it, build upon it and develop your teaching further.
I currently teach children's yoga. Is this a good next step?
Yes! Particularly if you're ready to deepen your own knowledge of yoga and expand beyond teaching children.
The training can support children's yoga teachers who want to build a much stronger foundation in asana, anatomy, philosophy, pranayama, meditation, sequencing and teaching methodology, while developing the confidence to work with teenagers, parents, educators and other adults.
Your existing teaching experience is valuable. This gives you the opportunity to broaden it.
How does the online part of the training work?
The Online Foundations take place from April–June 2027 and combine self-paced learning with interactive live workshops.
You'll work through pre-recorded lessons, guided practices, demonstrations and practical explorations in your own time, alongside reading, reflection, personal practice and applied assignments.
We'll also meet for approximately two interactive live workshops each month, on two different time zones. These are designed for discussion, movement labs, group work and discussions, teaching practice, questions and shared learning.
Live sessions will be recorded, so you won't need to attend every session in real time.

Will I be qualified to teach after completing the training?
On successful completion of The Embodied Teacher Training, you'll receive your Yoga Alliance 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate.
More importantly, the training has been designed so that you leave having already practiced teaching repeatedly, received feedback and developed the practical skills to begin stepping into studios, private teaching and your own classes.
What if I don't want to teach professionally?
That's completely okay. Some people undertake a 200-hour training because they know they want to teach. Others come because they want to understand yoga far more deeply, immerse themselves in their own practice or explore where the experience might take them.
There is no expectation that you must become a professional yoga teacher afterwards. You'll learn how to teach but what you choose to do with that knowledge is entirely yours.
How many people will be on the training?
The Embodied Teacher is intentionally small by design with 8-12 students joining this years training. This allows for genuine individual mentorship, meaningful feedback and the opportunity for everyone to teach, ask questions, experiment and be seen.
It also creates something that's incredibly important to this training: community.
You'll get to know your cohort during the Online Foundations before we arrive in Thailand, then spend 13 nights learning, practicing, eating, resting, laughing and growing together.
