The 20-Hour Foundation Training

(The first 20-Hours of the RCYT 95-Hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training)

The 20-hour foundation training is the entry point into children’s yoga teaching. It provides the core knowledge, practical tools and teaching confidence needed to begin sharing meaningful, safe and effective yoga practices with children aged 3–11.

This module focuses on:

  • Understanding how children learn, move and regulate - and how to best support and guide them

  • Age-appropriate, creative yoga, mindfulness and meditation / relaxation practices that really work

  • Essential teaching skills so that you can  confidently teach in real-world environments

  • How to effectively use story-telling, music, play and art in kids yoga in a purposeful and holistic way

You’ll also receive a gentle introduction to teaching for teens, allowing you to build a foundation that can grow alongside your students.

This training is ideal if you:

  • Work in a classroom or school setting

  • Teach or plan to teach children’s yoga in studios or community spaces

  • Want a recognised, experience-led foundation before progressing further

The 95-Hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training

The 95-hour training is a complete program. The 20-hour foundation module is simply the first stage of this training and is not an additional course or extra cost.

The 95-Hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training is a Yoga Alliance Certified program (RCYT 95-Hour) and the most comprehensive pathway for those who want to teach children’s yoga professionally and confidently across studios, schools and educational settings.

For yoga teachers, we highly recommend completing the full 95-hour certification, particularly if you plan to work in studios or schools. This is the Globally recognised qualification that many studios and organisations require, and it provides the depth, breadth and credibility needed to teach children and teens with confidence.

The 95-hour training builds on the foundation module and offers a rich, holistic and deeply practical exploration of children’s and teens’ yoga, designed to support all learners.

  • Teach children and teens aged 3–18, with practices that evolve as children grow

  • Confidently support neurodiverse children through inclusive, adaptable and regulation-informed yoga

  • Use yoga as a tool for teen stress and anxiety, emotional regulation, confidence and self-expression

  • Integrate creative and therapeutic approaches, including art-based meditation, yoga-stories and visualisation

  • Offer age-appropriate relaxation and meditation, from playful calm-down practices for younger children to grounding and reflective guided meditation techniques for teens

  • Share yoga philosophy in child-friendly ways, translating timeless concepts into meaningful, accessible experiences for children and adolescents

  • Create classes that feel playful, nurturing, creative and heart-led, while remaining safe, structured and developmentally appropriate

  • A clear, professional framework for long-term teaching, program planning, and confident delivery across different environments

While the 20-hour foundation training can be taken as a standalone experience, the vast majority of students choose to continue straight on to complete the 95-hour certification. Rather than waiting, students often feel excited, inspired, and motivated by the foundation training—leaving with strong confidence, clear understanding, and a genuine enjoyment of the learning process that naturally leads them to expand their teaching skills further.

This pathway supports teachers not only to qualify, but to feel prepared, capable and confident teaching children’s yoga in real-world settings.

Student Review

"I gave one of Laura's free courses a go and I was hooked! I learned so much in that 45 minutes that I couldn’t wait for more.

I completed Laura’s 95-Hour yoga course; the course was interactive, soooo informative, fun and I met the most amazing people on it. I felt completely ready to teach yoga to children and have been doing so online for the last three weeks.

The training didn’t stop at the end of the course. Laura is available to answer questions we have, give advice and support us whenever we need it.

I would highly recommend any/all of Laura’s courses, you won’t be disappointed".

Our Learning Space:

Wildflower Well-Being Studio

Founded by Laura, Wildflower Well Being is a thoughtfully curated space designed to support meaningful learning and connection, created to reflect Laura's teaching style - calm, nurturing and playful. Nestled in the heart of Tai Ping Shan, one of Hong Kong’s most creative and character-filled neighbourhoods. Surrounded by street art, independent cafés, and a vibrant yet laid-back energy, the area feels quietly cool and deeply inspiring.

Step inside the studio and everything softens.

Students often describe Wildflower as “an oasis in the middle of the city.” The space is calm, cosy and nurturing, filled with warm light, candle glow, plants and sunflowers scattered throughout, and a gentle sense of ease that invites you to slow down and settle in. It’s intentionally designed to feel welcoming rather than formal, grounding not overstimulating.

Trainings here are relaxed and spacious. We take breaks together on the sofa and meditation cushions, sharing tea and conversation, allowing time to integrate and breathe. Lunch breaks are unrushed, with countless options for delicious food and great coffee just downstairs and around the neighbourhood — from local spots to much-loved cafés.

Wildflower is not just a place to train — it’s a place to feel held, inspired and at home. A space where learning unfolds naturally, connection feels easy and you can truly enjoy the experience of the training.
